Narrative:
On turn back to sjc on loupe 9, climbing through 8000 ft, received resolution advisory to descend, turned sharply away from target, disconnected autoplt and automatic thrust and descended at 2000 FPM to below 7000 ft until received 'clear of conflict' notification. At no time did we receive any notification of traffic from departure control even though other aircraft was using a transponder. Came within 300 ft and 2 mi. Gained visual on traffic light aircraft. Either departure control should have notified us of traffic or switched us earlier to ZOA.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG STOPPED CLBING AND DSNDED IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA DURING A SID DEP.
Narrative: ON TURN BACK TO SJC ON LOUPE 9, CLBING THROUGH 8000 FT, RECEIVED RESOLUTION ADVISORY TO DSND, TURNED SHARPLY AWAY FROM TARGET, DISCONNECTED AUTOPLT AND AUTO THRUST AND DSNDED AT 2000 FPM TO BELOW 7000 FT UNTIL RECEIVED 'CLR OF CONFLICT' NOTIFICATION. AT NO TIME DID WE RECEIVE ANY NOTIFICATION OF TFC FROM DEP CTL EVEN THOUGH OTHER ACFT WAS USING A TRANSPONDER. CAME WITHIN 300 FT AND 2 MI. GAINED VISUAL ON TFC LIGHT ACFT. EITHER DEP CTL SHOULD HAVE NOTIFIED US OF TFC OR SWITCHED US EARLIER TO ZOA.
