Narrative:
During descent from FL280, turned on seat belt sign at beginning of descent. Also talked with flight attendants and told them there might be some chop in descent and to put things away early. There was no reported chop or turbulence at this time. Passing over portl intersection, encountered moderate turbulence lasting approximately 15 seconds. Made announcement for flight attendants to situation down. Made report to center about turbulence. Had first officer slow to 250 KTS. Called flight attendant. She said everyone was down and ok. No further turbulence in descent. Only occasional light chop. Continued inbound to pdx and made normal approach and landing. After parking at gate in pdx, first flight attendant advised me of injury to other flight attendant. Decision was made to call medical assistance. Flight attendant was taken to hospital. Went with flight attendant to hospital. Doctor said xrays, at that time, did not show any broken bones. Flight attendant was released to go to hotel. Was advised on dec/xx/95 that flight attendant had in fact broken a bone. Area WX was multi layers. No turbulence reports other than light chop. No cumulo nimbus or rw's reported or seen. One rw seen on final approach to pdx.
