Narrative:
We were descending to 13000 ft, through FL180, I reset both altimeters and completed the checklist items as the PF was conversing with a passenger. We leveled at 13000 ft momentarily, and I heard the autothrottle and autoplt tone disengage. The PF was climbing to 14000 ft, apparently thinking his altimeter was not properly set. I queried him and got no clear response. He mentioned something about thinking the altimeter was not set correctly. Somehow, the #1 altimeter was not correctly adjusted. I reset it to the proper setting and nothing else was said. Autoplt #1 and autothrottle #1 were reengaged and the flight continued normally. Possible distractions: passenger in cockpit area, not aurally confirming the checklist at FL180. No query by ATC was made.

Title: FLC OF A CPR MLG FORGOT TO RESET ALTIMETER DURING DSCNT BELOW FL180 RESULTING IN OVERSHOOTING ASSIGNED ALT.

WE LEVELED AT 13000 FT MOMENTARILY, AND I HEARD THE AUTOTHROTTLE AND AUTOPLT TONE DISENGAGE. THE PF WAS CLBING TO 14000 FT, APPARENTLY THINKING HIS ALTIMETER WAS NOT PROPERLY SET. I QUERIED HIM AND GOT NO CLR RESPONSE. HE MENTIONED SOMETHING ABOUT THINKING THE ALTIMETER WAS NOT SET CORRECTLY. SOMEHOW, THE #1 ALTIMETER WAS NOT CORRECTLY ADJUSTED. I RESET IT TO THE PROPER SETTING AND NOTHING ELSE WAS SAID. AUTOPLT #1 AND AUTOTHROTTLE #1 WERE REENGAGED AND THE FLT CONTINUED NORMALLY. POSSIBLE DISTRACTIONS: PAX IN COCKPIT AREA, NOT AURALLY CONFIRMING THE CHKLIST AT FL180. NO QUERY BY ATC WAS MADE.
