Narrative:
Took off from seattle in icing conditions at maximum gross weight. Shortly after takeoff, developed a problem with engine #1 anti-ice. Talked to dispatch and maintenance and determined that return to seattle was necessary since we were en route to alaska. Unable to hold in icing conditions due to problem, so made an overweight landing with concurrence from dispatch and maintenance. Landing was uneventful at 117500 pounds (3500 pounds over weight). Used as much fuel as possible before landing. B737-300 cannot dump fuel
