Narrative:
We were given clearance to taxi via txwys F to east and hold short of runway 06R. Runway 06R was in close proximity to txwys F and east and the ramp. Snow and ice was covering runway markings. We crossed the runway with aircraft on final and held short on runway 06L. I did not see the runway markings and the airport diagram is small and hard to read. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states the problem is that there are taxiway centerline lights which start beyond runway 06R. There were no hold lines visible for runway 06R so reporter thought the taxiway started where the taxiway centerline lights began. There was no snow clearing going on at the time of the incident. This was a night operation but on the return flight in the daytime, a small sign could be seen to the left of taxiway east indicating the runway. Reporter believes this could be solved by starting the taxiway centerline lighting where the taxiway begins, not on the other side of the runway. The aircraft was a gulfstream III.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CORP ACFT CROSSES RWY WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN CLRNC TO TAXI VIA TXWYS F TO E AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 06R. RWY 06R WAS IN CLOSE PROX TO TXWYS F AND E AND THE RAMP. SNOW AND ICE WAS COVERING RWY MARKINGS. WE CROSSED THE RWY WITH ACFT ON FINAL AND HELD SHORT ON RWY 06L. I DID NOT SEE THE RWY MARKINGS AND THE ARPT DIAGRAM IS SMALL AND HARD TO READ. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THE PROB IS THAT THERE ARE TXWY CTRLINE LIGHTS WHICH START BEYOND RWY 06R. THERE WERE NO HOLD LINES VISIBLE FOR RWY 06R SO RPTR THOUGHT THE TXWY STARTED WHERE THE TXWY CTRLINE LIGHTS BEGAN. THERE WAS NO SNOW CLRING GOING ON AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THIS WAS A NIGHT OP BUT ON THE RETURN FLT IN THE DAYTIME, A SMALL SIGN COULD BE SEEN TO THE L OF TXWY E INDICATING THE RWY. RPTR BELIEVES THIS COULD BE SOLVED BY STARTING THE TXWY CTRLINE LIGHTING WHERE THE TXWY BEGINS, NOT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RWY. THE ACFT WAS A GULFSTREAM III.
