Narrative:
On final approach to runway 24R, we were coupled up for an autoland. We were on GS and on localizer when we got a corrective RA alert from our TCASII to climb. First officer initiated climb and I started to look for the traffic. When we looked out the left side of the aircraft, I saw a light transport at about our 10 O'clock position and approximately 10 ft above and 200 ft to our left. At that time the captain took the controls and continued climbing and started a right turn away from the traffic. We informed ATC of our near miss and requested vectors back for another approach. Visibility was poor and it was our understanding from our conversation on the phone with ATC that the light transport was supposed to have stayed behind us and kept us in his sight. Apparently that was not the case. Separation should have been monitored by ATC even if the light transport said they had us in sight.

Title: NMAC. TCASII. ACFT ON COUPLED ILS APCH. INTRUDER ACFT, INSTRUCTED BY ATC TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION, THEY DIDN'T. WX CONDITIONS MARGINAL. INTRUDER ACFT DSNDED ON TOP OF RPTR WHO RECEIVED TCASII RA. EVASIVE ACTION INITIATED.
Narrative: ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 24R, WE WERE COUPLED UP FOR AN AUTOLAND. WE WERE ON GS AND ON LOC WHEN WE GOT A CORRECTIVE RA ALERT FROM OUR TCASII TO CLB. FO INITIATED CLB AND I STARTED TO LOOK FOR THE TFC. WHEN WE LOOKED OUT THE L SIDE OF THE ACFT, I SAW A LTT AT ABOUT OUR 10 O'CLOCK POS AND APPROX 10 FT ABOVE AND 200 FT TO OUR L. AT THAT TIME THE CAPT TOOK THE CTLS AND CONTINUED CLBING AND STARTED A R TURN AWAY FROM THE TFC. WE INFORMED ATC OF OUR NEAR MISS AND REQUESTED VECTORS BACK FOR ANOTHER APCH. VISIBILITY WAS POOR AND IT WAS OUR UNDERSTANDING FROM OUR CONVERSATION ON THE PHONE WITH ATC THAT THE LTT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE STAYED BEHIND US AND KEPT US IN HIS SIGHT. APPARENTLY THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. SEPARATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN MONITORED BY ATC EVEN IF THE LTT SAID THEY HAD US IN SIGHT.
