Narrative:

While cruising west from bfi the door popped open in light (moderate?) turbulence, and could not be safely re-engaged. Although my passenger were holding the door, the wind noise over the headsets and intercom was excessive, and the radio was almost unusable. I elected to make a precautionary landing at bremerton airport, which I visually felt was still VFR, made my pattern calls on the radio, and landed. Apparently, an IFR pilot who already landed, felt threatened by my presence in the pattern and called approach control to report me. He said he also called me, though I did not hear more than a couple words.

Title: AFTER EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTY WITH CLOSING A DOOR THAT HAD OPENED DURING FLT, THE PLT OF A PA28 MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG. AFTER LNDG, HE WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER PLT THAT HE WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE PATTERN UNDER THE WX CONDITIONS PRESENT AT THE TIME, AND THAT HE HAD BEEN RPTED TO APCH CTLR.

Narrative: WHILE CRUISING W FROM BFI THE DOOR POPPED OPEN IN LIGHT (MODERATE?) TURB, AND COULD NOT BE SAFELY RE-ENGAGED. ALTHOUGH MY PAX WERE HOLDING THE DOOR, THE WIND NOISE OVER THE HEADSETS AND INTERCOM WAS EXCESSIVE, AND THE RADIO WAS ALMOST UNUSABLE. I ELECTED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG AT BREMERTON ARPT, WHICH I VISUALLY FELT WAS STILL VFR, MADE MY PATTERN CALLS ON THE RADIO, AND LANDED. APPARENTLY, AN IFR PLT WHO ALREADY LANDED, FELT THREATENED BY MY PRESENCE IN THE PATTERN AND CALLED APCH CTL TO RPT ME. HE SAID HE ALSO CALLED ME, THOUGH I DID NOT HEAR MORE THAN A COUPLE WORDS.
