Narrative:
On the la grange arrival to atlanta got a crossing restr of 'cross 75 NM southeast of atl VOR at FL290 to maintain FL240.' while still at FL330 a different controller asked why we were still at FL330. We explained our crossing restr and he responded the restr was from la grange VOR about 50 NM closer to us than atlanta. Both pilots heard and read back atlanta. He said 'no problem,' but started us down. This was our 5TH leg and 11 hours on duty, but we heard the restr from atlanta VOR vice la grange VOR, and read it back accordingly. Our reflection 75 NM from atlanta would be a little tight but since atlanta WX was marginal and holding was expected we didn't notice a discrepancy. Possible pilot fatigue played a factor, but we both remember hearing atlanta specifically and read it back accordingly.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ON THE LA GRANGE 6 ARR 'CROSS 75 NM SE OF ATL VOR AT FL290 MAINTAIN FL240' WAS GIVEN TO THE FLC. BOTH HEARD THE CLRNC AND READ BACK ACCORDINGLY. ANOTHER CTLR SEEING THE FLT IS NOT DSNDING SAID THE CLRNC WAS TO CROSS 75 MI SE OF LA GRANGE AND NOT ATLANTA. THE CTLR SAID THERE WAS NO PROB BUT TO START DOWN. THIS WAS THE 5TH LEG AND 11 HRS ON DUTY.
Narrative: ON THE LA GRANGE ARR TO ATLANTA GOT A XING RESTR OF 'CROSS 75 NM SE OF ATL VOR AT FL290 TO MAINTAIN FL240.' WHILE STILL AT FL330 A DIFFERENT CTLR ASKED WHY WE WERE STILL AT FL330. WE EXPLAINED OUR XING RESTR AND HE RESPONDED THE RESTR WAS FROM LA GRANGE VOR ABOUT 50 NM CLOSER TO US THAN ATLANTA. BOTH PLTS HEARD AND READ BACK ATLANTA. HE SAID 'NO PROB,' BUT STARTED US DOWN. THIS WAS OUR 5TH LEG AND 11 HRS ON DUTY, BUT WE HEARD THE RESTR FROM ATLANTA VOR VICE LA GRANGE VOR, AND READ IT BACK ACCORDINGLY. OUR REFLECTION 75 NM FROM ATLANTA WOULD BE A LITTLE TIGHT BUT SINCE ATLANTA WX WAS MARGINAL AND HOLDING WAS EXPECTED WE DIDN'T NOTICE A DISCREPANCY. POSSIBLE PLT FATIGUE PLAYED A FACTOR, BUT WE BOTH REMEMBER HEARING ATLANTA SPECIFICALLY AND READ IT BACK ACCORDINGLY.
