Narrative:

First officer and I both believed 140 degrees was the heading assigned to 'keep south of gliders.' first officer read 140 degrees back. Later controller advised us we were in glider area and should have been on a 240 degree heading. Miscom with controller.

Title: MISCOM ON HDG CLRNC PRIOR TO TKOF. FLC THOUGHT 140 DEGS AND CLRNC WAS 240 DEGS. THAT HDG TOOK THEM INTO A GLIDER FLYING AREA AND THEY CAME CLOSE TO A GLIDER BEFORE ATC CORRECTED THEIR HDG.
