Narrative:
On takeoff during gear retraction, system a qty decreased enough to trigger system a qty low level light. Gear up and locked, flaps up, qty stabilized at 2 gals. Prior to takeoff system a qty indicated just under 4 gals, full at the gate. With no further indication of a system qty loss flight proceeded on to mia. We leveled off at FL290 due to operating manual restrs should we lose system a qty altogether. We made contact with dispatch and through commercial radio. All concerned agreed it prudent to continue on to mia. Abeam jax, 70 NM west we declared an emergency with ZMA. We let down to 11000 ft over cypress on the CYS1 arrival to mia. We briefed the #1 flight attendant on the possibility of complications on landing and instructed her to brief the passenger contingent on a possibility of landing emergency. We briefed operating manual procedures, ie, loss of system a, altitude gear extension, pneumatic braking, clipped pneumatic brake handle wire, our plan with crash fire rescue equipment equipment on the ground and evacuate/evacuation signal with #1 flight attendant test. We slowed the aircraft, put out flaps to 25 degrees, monitored system a qty, down to 1 1/4 gals, system a low level light on. Then 45 NM out lowered landing gear. System a qty stable 2 gals. Flaps 30 degrees on final, landed then taxied clear of mia runway 9R on txwys V to Y. Held short runway 12 crash fire rescue equipment equipment and men said landing gear and bays clear of fluids. Terminated emergency proceeded to gate.

Title: ACFT EQUIP PROB. PARTIAL LOSS OF HYD FLUID. FLC PLANNED FOR AND DECLARED EMER, NOT KNOWING IF THERE WOULD BE A PROB WITH LDNG GEAR, FLAPS, ETC. AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG AND TAXI TO THE GATE.
Narrative: ON TKOF DURING GEAR RETRACTION, SYS A QTY DECREASED ENOUGH TO TRIGGER SYS A QTY LOW LEVEL LIGHT. GEAR UP AND LOCKED, FLAPS UP, QTY STABILIZED AT 2 GALS. PRIOR TO TKOF SYS A QTY INDICATED JUST UNDER 4 GALS, FULL AT THE GATE. WITH NO FURTHER INDICATION OF A SYS QTY LOSS FLT PROCEEDED ON TO MIA. WE LEVELED OFF AT FL290 DUE TO OPERATING MANUAL RESTRS SHOULD WE LOSE SYS A QTY ALTOGETHER. WE MADE CONTACT WITH DISPATCH AND THROUGH COMMERCIAL RADIO. ALL CONCERNED AGREED IT PRUDENT TO CONTINUE ON TO MIA. ABEAM JAX, 70 NM W WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH ZMA. WE LET DOWN TO 11000 FT OVER CYPRESS ON THE CYS1 ARR TO MIA. WE BRIEFED THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT ON THE POSSIBILITY OF COMPLICATIONS ON LNDG AND INSTRUCTED HER TO BRIEF THE PAX CONTINGENT ON A POSSIBILITY OF LNDG EMER. WE BRIEFED OPERATING MANUAL PROCS, IE, LOSS OF SYS A, ALT GEAR EXTENSION, PNEUMATIC BRAKING, CLIPPED PNEUMATIC BRAKE HANDLE WIRE, OUR PLAN WITH CFR EQUIP ON THE GND AND EVAC SIGNAL WITH #1 FLT ATTENDANT TEST. WE SLOWED THE ACFT, PUT OUT FLAPS TO 25 DEGS, MONITORED SYS A QTY, DOWN TO 1 1/4 GALS, SYS A LOW LEVEL LIGHT ON. THEN 45 NM OUT LOWERED LNDG GEAR. SYS A QTY STABLE 2 GALS. FLAPS 30 DEGS ON FINAL, LANDED THEN TAXIED CLR OF MIA RWY 9R ON TXWYS V TO Y. HELD SHORT RWY 12 CFR EQUIP AND MEN SAID LNDG GEAR AND BAYS CLR OF FLUIDS. TERMINATED EMER PROCEEDED TO GATE.
