Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff pvd, proximity system inoperative alert appeared on MFDU followed by several associated alerts including stabilizer trim, takeoff confign, flight control, flap indicator, and loss of FMS data. These alerts occurred at different times and included some level 3 alerts. Return to pvd was initiated. At some point, normal stabilizer trim was lost. During manual trim operation airspeed increased to approximately 280 KTS and descended approximately 500 ft below assigned altitude. I don't recall if this occurred before or after clearance for approach due to my uncertainty as to which system were actually operative and some concern as to how aircraft would perform in landing confign. A slow dirty up was performed and airport emergency equipment was called for. An uneventful 42 degree flap overweight landing was made.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: THE AIR GND SENSOR DID NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY ON TKOF. FOKKER 100.
Narrative: SHORTLY AFTER TKOF PVD, PROX SYS INOP ALERT APPEARED ON MFDU FOLLOWED BY SEVERAL ASSOCIATED ALERTS INCLUDING STABILIZER TRIM, TKOF CONFIGN, FLT CTL, FLAP INDICATOR, AND LOSS OF FMS DATA. THESE ALERTS OCCURRED AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND INCLUDED SOME LEVEL 3 ALERTS. RETURN TO PVD WAS INITIATED. AT SOME POINT, NORMAL STABILIZER TRIM WAS LOST. DURING MANUAL TRIM OP AIRSPD INCREASED TO APPROX 280 KTS AND DSNDED APPROX 500 FT BELOW ASSIGNED ALT. I DON'T RECALL IF THIS OCCURRED BEFORE OR AFTER CLRNC FOR APCH DUE TO MY UNCERTAINTY AS TO WHICH SYS WERE ACTUALLY OPERATIVE AND SOME CONCERN AS TO HOW ACFT WOULD PERFORM IN LNDG CONFIGN. A SLOW DIRTY UP WAS PERFORMED AND ARPT EMER EQUIP WAS CALLED FOR. AN UNEVENTFUL 42 DEG FLAP OVERWT LNDG WAS MADE.
