Narrative:
After being issued a clearance with the manchester 2 SID, I climbed and started a turn to a 220 degree heading, following the turbojet transition instead of the runway heading clearance for all other aircraft. Tower brought this to our attention and cleared us subsequently to a 220 degree hg up to 3000 ft. I definitely need to read the sids more carefully, especially early in the morning. Supplemental information from acn 337500: issued manchester 2 departure off runway 35, then was changed on taxi out to manchester 2 departure off runway 17.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AFTER TKOF, A DH8 COMMUTER FLC INADVERTENTLY FOLLOWED THE DEP PROC FOR TURBOJETS. THE DEP CLRNC HAD BEEN AMENDED AS A RESULT OF A NEW RWY ASSIGNMENT DURING TAXI, AND THE PF FAILED TO NOTICE THAT THERE WERE 2 PROCS FOR THE NEW RWY, ONE FOR TURBOJETS AND ANOTHER FOR ALL OTHER ACFT.
Narrative: AFTER BEING ISSUED A CLRNC WITH THE MANCHESTER 2 SID, I CLBED AND STARTED A TURN TO A 220 DEG HDG, FOLLOWING THE TURBOJET TRANSITION INSTEAD OF THE RWY HDG CLRNC FOR ALL OTHER ACFT. TWR BROUGHT THIS TO OUR ATTN AND CLRED US SUBSEQUENTLY TO A 220 DEG HG UP TO 3000 FT. I DEFINITELY NEED TO READ THE SIDS MORE CAREFULLY, ESPECIALLY EARLY IN THE MORNING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 337500: ISSUED MANCHESTER 2 DEP OFF RWY 35, THEN WAS CHANGED ON TAXI OUT TO MANCHESTER 2 DEP OFF RWY 17.
