Narrative:
En route cruise condition at 11000 ft. Penetrated embedded thunderstorm, unable to maintain altitude. Went to 12800 ft, quickly, contacted controller. Notified him that would return to 11000 ft as soon as possible. Controller acknowledged and inquired as to the ride. Returned to 11000 ft promptly.
