Narrative:
In cruise flight at approximately 7500 ft MSL (cessna 150) lost power. Checked appropriate fuel gauge, mixture, carburetor heat, magnetos. Engine surged several times as I began a glide towards the iraan, tx, airport. There was not sufficient altitude to make a landing at iraan airport, therefore I landed off the airport. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter says that the aircraft sustained minimal damage -- some dents on the leading edges of the wings. FAA investigated. Cause of the engine failure was unknown, but trash was found in the fuel.

Title: ACFT EQUIP PROB. ENG FAILURE. OFF ARPT LNDG. LIGHT DAMAGE.
Narrative: IN CRUISE FLT AT APPROX 7500 FT MSL (CESSNA 150) LOST PWR. CHKED APPROPRIATE FUEL GAUGE, MIXTURE, CARB HEAT, MAGNETOS. ENG SURGED SEVERAL TIMES AS I BEGAN A GLIDE TOWARDS THE IRAAN, TX, ARPT. THERE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT ALT TO MAKE A LNDG AT IRAAN ARPT, THEREFORE I LANDED OFF THE ARPT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR SAYS THAT THE ACFT SUSTAINED MINIMAL DAMAGE -- SOME DENTS ON THE LEADING EDGES OF THE WINGS. FAA INVESTIGATED. CAUSE OF THE ENG FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT TRASH WAS FOUND IN THE FUEL.
