Narrative:
Cleared to taxi to runway 04. Departed ramp on taxiway K. First officer and ground control questioned taxi route so I stopped aircraft short of restr taxiway. I decided to have aircraft pushed back by company tug rather than turn around on narrow taxiway. To preclude future occurrences, suggest taxiway billboards, full taxi clrncs and notes on page 11-0. Pilots should refer to all airport pages. Supplemental information from acn 341380: taxi off ramp at fay via taxiway K, taxi instructions 'taxi to runway 04, exit ramp at taxiway K.' started to use taxiway K to cross runway 10 or taxi via runway 10 to runway 04. Entered intersection, ground called, questioned taxi route. We were almost on taxiway K which cannot handle aircraft over 60000 pounds. Captain stopped aircraft too far into intersection to turn back. Got company tug to come out and push aircraft back in to turn on parallel taxiway. No damage to aircraft. No damage observed to taxiway.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: THE RPTR RECEIVED TAXI CLRNC TO RWY 04. THE GND CTL EXPECTED THE PLT WOULD EXIT THE RAMP AT TXWY K TO TXWY J TO TXWY A TO RWY 04. THE PLTS WERE GOING TO USE RWY 10 AND DID NOT REALIZE TXWY K TO RWY 10 WAS NOT STRESSED FOR ACFT ABOVE 60000 LBS.
Narrative: CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 04. DEPARTED RAMP ON TXWY K. FO AND GND CTL QUESTIONED TAXI RTE SO I STOPPED ACFT SHORT OF RESTR TXWY. I DECIDED TO HAVE ACFT PUSHED BACK BY COMPANY TUG RATHER THAN TURN AROUND ON NARROW TXWY. TO PRECLUDE FUTURE OCCURRENCES, SUGGEST TXWY BILLBOARDS, FULL TAXI CLRNCS AND NOTES ON PAGE 11-0. PLTS SHOULD REFER TO ALL ARPT PAGES. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 341380: TAXI OFF RAMP AT FAY VIA TXWY K, TAXI INSTRUCTIONS 'TAXI TO RWY 04, EXIT RAMP AT TXWY K.' STARTED TO USE TXWY K TO CROSS RWY 10 OR TAXI VIA RWY 10 TO RWY 04. ENTERED INTXN, GND CALLED, QUESTIONED TAXI RTE. WE WERE ALMOST ON TXWY K WHICH CANNOT HANDLE ACFT OVER 60000 LBS. CAPT STOPPED ACFT TOO FAR INTO INTXN TO TURN BACK. GOT COMPANY TUG TO COME OUT AND PUSH ACFT BACK IN TO TURN ON PARALLEL TXWY. NO DAMAGE TO ACFT. NO DAMAGE OBSERVED TO TXWY.
