Narrative:

On descent to mia, the first flight attendant advised us that another flight attendant had cut his head deeply and that they were unable to stop the bleeding. We advised the company to have paramedics meet the flight on arrival. When the flight attendant advised that he was getting sick and faint, we declared a medical emergency to get priority handling and maintain above 250 KTS below 10000 ft. We landed straight in runway 12 and turned off on taxiway Y, straight to the gate. Upon arrival, the paramedics met the gate but were unable to access the aircraft because we had to wait 9 mins for an agent to move the jet bridge. Fortunately the cut turned out not to be serious but we felt it was best to get attention for the flight attendant as quickly as possible due to the nausea and the possibility of him passing out. There was no excuse to have to wait for the gate as this could be the difference between life and death in some emergencys.

Title: AN ACR FLC DECLARED A MEDICAL EMER, RECEIVED PRIORITY HANDLING, AND EXCEEDED 250 KTS BELOW 10000 FT, TO OBTAIN MEDICAL HELP FOR AN INJURED FLT ATTENDANT. AFTER USING EVERY MEANS POSSIBLE TO GET THE FLT ATTENDANT DOWN ONTO THE GND AND WITH THE MEDICAL HELP, THE ACFT WAITED 9 MINS FOR THE JETWAY IN ORDER TO ENPLANE THE PARAMEDICS.

Narrative: ON DSCNT TO MIA, THE FIRST FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED US THAT ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT HAD CUT HIS HEAD DEEPLY AND THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO STOP THE BLEEDING. WE ADVISED THE COMPANY TO HAVE PARAMEDICS MEET THE FLT ON ARR. WHEN THE FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED THAT HE WAS GETTING SICK AND FAINT, WE DECLARED A MEDICAL EMER TO GET PRIORITY HANDLING AND MAINTAIN ABOVE 250 KTS BELOW 10000 FT. WE LANDED STRAIGHT IN RWY 12 AND TURNED OFF ON TXWY Y, STRAIGHT TO THE GATE. UPON ARR, THE PARAMEDICS MET THE GATE BUT WERE UNABLE TO ACCESS THE ACFT BECAUSE WE HAD TO WAIT 9 MINS FOR AN AGENT TO MOVE THE JET BRIDGE. FORTUNATELY THE CUT TURNED OUT NOT TO BE SERIOUS BUT WE FELT IT WAS BEST TO GET ATTN FOR THE FLT ATTENDANT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE DUE TO THE NAUSEA AND THE POSSIBILITY OF HIM PASSING OUT. THERE WAS NO EXCUSE TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE GATE AS THIS COULD BE THE DIFFERENCE BTWN LIFE AND DEATH IN SOME EMERS.
