Narrative:

We had a medical emergency with a divert to den. Emergency was an urgent heart attack case. With a lot of chatter in the cockpit (coordination) and frequency change (PF) and a rapid descent in progress, a 17000 ft altitude clearance was broken (though heard and set in the altitude warning indicator by PF) and caught at 16200 ft. Corrected back to 17000 ft. No mention made by ATC. Contributing factors: PF doing all the flying duties with no backup. Congestion and noise in the cockpit. Expedited handling and descent. Pucker factor.
