Narrative:
Immediately after takeoff a loud humming sound was heard and a burning smell was noticed. The smell quickly went away but the sound would only diminish when the #1 thrust lever was retarded. All engine instruments indicated normal. This information was given to our company maintenance control who instructed us to continue on to our destination. After landing an inspection of the #1 engine revealed we had ingested a bird causing damage to the C-1 blade.
