Narrative:
I was flying an aeronca sedan southwest on a pleasure flight. A rear seat passenger pointed out an airplane at our 5 O'clock position. It was a yankee which was overtaking us on an intercept course. It came alongside right off my right wing and then slowed down to match my speed and then drifted in closer (50-100 ft away). After flying formation for about a min he accelerated and angled off to the right and headed for the wellington fairgrounds. He then started a left turn to circle the fairgrounds and came right back at us. The evening sun then blocked the view and when he came back in sight he was straight ahead at our altitude in a left bank. He passed overhead after I only had time to descend 100 ft. He continued to circle the fairgrounds.
