ATC facility: rdu approach. Location: northeast rdu. Level 10000 ft approaching rdu. Cleared to 8000 ft. While slowing to 250 KTS we were maneuvering around a small buildup. Turbulence induced aircraft to balloon to approximately 10270 ft. Descent continued and normal landing rdu. No remarks from ATC.
