Narrative:
The airspace at lax is among the busiest in the world. The radio frequencys are frequently congested to the point where it is very hard for anyone to get a word in edgewise. Yet the socal TRACON persists in issuing clrncs that are either unnecessary or could be issued via ACARS pre departure clearance. These clrncs exacerbate the situation by consuming precious seconds of radio time, countless times per day. 1) socal departure invariably says 'maintain 250 KTS till advised' on initial contact after takeoff. At every other facility where this has been adopted, it is either written on the ACARS pre departure clearance or on the SID itself. 2) on the sadde 6 arrival, socal approach always says 'depart smo VOR heading 070 degrees.' this is also unnecessary -- the SID's procedure calls for tracking outbound on the smo 068 degree radial, essentially the same thing. If these 2 unnecessary clrncs were avoided, it would help the frequency congestion problem in part.

Title: ACR CAPT COMPLAINT ABOUT SOCAL TRACON CTLRS COM TECHNIQUE IN RESTATING THE SPD RESTR UPON INITIAL CONTACT AFTER TKOF FROM LAX. ALSO COMPLAINS ABOUT APCH CTLR COM TECHNIQUE ON ARRIVALS USING THE SADDE 6 ARR.
Narrative: THE AIRSPACE AT LAX IS AMONG THE BUSIEST IN THE WORLD. THE RADIO FREQS ARE FREQUENTLY CONGESTED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS VERY HARD FOR ANYONE TO GET A WORD IN EDGEWISE. YET THE SOCAL TRACON PERSISTS IN ISSUING CLRNCS THAT ARE EITHER UNNECESSARY OR COULD BE ISSUED VIA ACARS PDC. THESE CLRNCS EXACERBATE THE SIT BY CONSUMING PRECIOUS SECONDS OF RADIO TIME, COUNTLESS TIMES PER DAY. 1) SOCAL DEP INVARIABLY SAYS 'MAINTAIN 250 KTS TILL ADVISED' ON INITIAL CONTACT AFTER TKOF. AT EVERY OTHER FACILITY WHERE THIS HAS BEEN ADOPTED, IT IS EITHER WRITTEN ON THE ACARS PDC OR ON THE SID ITSELF. 2) ON THE SADDE 6 ARR, SOCAL APCH ALWAYS SAYS 'DEPART SMO VOR HDG 070 DEGS.' THIS IS ALSO UNNECESSARY -- THE SID'S PROC CALLS FOR TRACKING OUTBOUND ON THE SMO 068 DEG RADIAL, ESSENTIALLY THE SAME THING. IF THESE 2 UNNECESSARY CLRNCS WERE AVOIDED, IT WOULD HELP THE FREQ CONGESTION PROB IN PART.
