Narrative:
En route to lft at 2500 ft, moderate to occasionally severe turbulence caused me to ignore my altitude in favor of maintaining 'attitude' and caused approach control to get excited about a air carrier jet at 1700 ft on the approach to btr, about 2.5 mi away. I bottomed out at 2100 ft and approach became alarmed and gave me a 90 degree turn to the left. I told him of the turbulence and he claimed I endangered the air carrier jet. I had the air carrier jet in sight and didn't think I endangered them at all, so I'm reporting it to you to cover my '6 O'clock.'

Title: SMA ACFT ENRTE CRUISE ENCOUNTERED TURB, PLT LOST 400 FT AND APCH CTLR INTERVENED, VECTORED RPTR ACFT DUE TO CONFLICT WITH ACR JET ON APCH.
Narrative: ENRTE TO LFT AT 2500 FT, MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY SEVERE TURB CAUSED ME TO IGNORE MY ALT IN FAVOR OF MAINTAINING 'ATTITUDE' AND CAUSED APCH CTL TO GET EXCITED ABOUT A ACR JET AT 1700 FT ON THE APCH TO BTR, ABOUT 2.5 MI AWAY. I BOTTOMED OUT AT 2100 FT AND APCH BECAME ALARMED AND GAVE ME A 90 DEG TURN TO THE L. I TOLD HIM OF THE TURB AND HE CLAIMED I ENDANGERED THE ACR JET. I HAD THE ACR JET IN SIGHT AND DIDN'T THINK I ENDANGERED THEM AT ALL, SO I'M RPTING IT TO YOU TO COVER MY '6 O'CLOCK.'
