Narrative:
Inadvertently stopped beyond runway hold line to runway 25R after landing on runway 25L at lax. Aircraft nose just beyond hold line. No conflict. No departure or landing on runway 25R at time of occurrence. Runway was clear. Tower cleared us to cross runway 25R after we advised that we had stopped beyond hold line. First officer landed, captain assumed control clearing runway. Inadvertently thought we were cleared across runway 25R due to lack of other traffic. First officer was also busy looking up ground frequency. Captain debriefed crew on importance of airport and situational awareness. Captain called tower after parking at gate to verify no conflict occurred.
