Narrative:
On left base leg runway 14 near approach end, noted vehicle on runway, elected to s-turn instead of 270 degree turn which tower suggested. Smooth landing 1/3 way down runway past vehicle. I should have gone around. In future will always be at 400 ft when turning on final, also be sure I have clearance to land! One factor may have been smooth, easy flight and recent activation of tower control.
