Narrative:
Original flight release given to us by agent indicated routing between mso and gtf as follows: mso, V187, gtf. Voice clearance received indicated, 'cleared as filed.' 3 mins prior to departure, a new release was brought to the aircraft with different routing as follows: mso, dru, gtf. We proceeded along new routing. Soon after turning toward dru, ATC queried us on our routing. They had us filed on our original routing which was mso, V187, gtf. We soon discovered that the new releases were given to us in error by gate agent. They were from previous day. There was much confusion regarding releases because we ended up with 3 releases and at last min we failed to check date. ATC indicated that there was no traffic conflict and that we could have any routing that we desired. Dispatch was brought into the loop and we discussed the chain of events that lead to the error. They advised ground station personnel to not leave any dispatch paperwork lying around the station.
