Narrative:
I inadvertently let my medical (class III) expire. I still cannot believe that almost 3 yrs has elapsed since my previous medical. I just passed a recent medical with no new restrs (I still need eye glasses for distant vision). My old medical certificate was laminated and labeled and in my wallet. I looked at it after, but it didn't look worn (and it 'couldn't' be expired -- it seems like I was just in the doctor's office). My new medical certificate is now also laminated, but with 1 big difference -- the label now includes the expiration date. Now as I FLIP through my wallet I see 'FAA medical expires 3-99.' as I look back I also realize why I stopped getting safety seminar information -- my medical had expired. If this hint helps someone avoid the mistake I made, it is worth this report. I hope the FAA looks kindly on me. P.south. My lamination method uses mylar packing tape so the certificate folds easily.
