Narrative:

Flo approach asked us to descend from 8000 ft to cross ctf VOR at 6000 ft. I started the descent. First officer and I began discussing personal financial matter. At 10 mi east of ctf VOR, flo approach asked us to verify altitude, at which time I advised the first officer to tell him 5000 ft. After a brief moment of silence we asked the controller for a descent to 4000 ft. The controller advised us to maintain 5000 ft and to contact clt approach on frequency 120.05. This was a trip that I had picked up in open time schedule. This was my fifth day on duty after 4 days of early rise at XX00 am and 23 hours of flight time. I would say that being a bit tired was a contributing factor in this situation.
