Narrative:

Communications. Location: atl 090/05. We were flying into atl international and landing on runway 27L. It was approximately XA30 local and we were flying into the sun. The first officer was flying the approach. Atl approach called out traffic to us and instructed us to follow him to runway 27L. We were looking for the traffic, but the sun hindered us from seeing him initially. It was also slightly hazy. We spotted the traffic and we cleared for the approach. Prior to reaching depot, we were instructed to switch to atl tower upon reaching depot. Due to distractions from the sun and looking for the traffic, I did not switch to atl tower at depot. I discovered this after landing and contacted tower for instructions. They cleared us to cross runway 27R and contact atl ground. After arriving at the gate I contacted atl tower to advise them of what happened and they said there were not any problems.
