Narrative:

I received a call from captain at approximately XA30 regarding flight from msy to lit. He said an alternate airport was required on the release according to his WX package. I looked at company manual and said it didn't require an alternate. He then said his WX material was NWS, and that it did require an alternate. I then checked NWS and it did in fact require an alternate. I then told him I would send him a copy of the company manual page and he said ok. He then called back and said he would like an alternate for the release, so I amended his release reflecting mem as his designated alternate. I amended the release on my copy and in the dispatch computer. I gave him my initials and the time, and he then hung up. The flight then departed.

HE THEN CALLED BACK AND SAID HE WOULD LIKE AN ALTERNATE FOR THE RELEASE, SO I AMENDED HIS RELEASE REFLECTING MEM AS HIS DESIGNATED ALTERNATE. I AMENDED THE RELEASE ON MY COPY AND IN THE DISPATCH COMPUTER. I GAVE HIM MY INITIALS AND THE TIME, AND HE THEN HUNG UP. THE FLT THEN DEPARTED.
