Narrative:
After pushback and engine start, #2 engine generator would not come on line. Captain referred to MEL and had phone patch with dispatch and maintenance control. Entered in logbook with release per MEL and maintenance tracking number. Captain was led to believe by his reading of MEL and maintenance control that it was not required to disconnect the CSD. We then taxied out and flew 2 legs sea-geg-slc. At gate in slc an FAA inspector boarded aircraft for ramp check. After reviewing logbook he wondered why there was no sticker by generator #2 switch. At that point I realized captain had not yet put sticker there. After FAA inspector reviewed MEL he thought the CSD should be disconnected. Captain and FAA inspector went to phone to talk with maintenance control. When they returned, captain said maintenance control told him the old MEL did not require the CSD disconnect, however, the new MEL did. The disconnect was something the crew could do. Captain placed required stickers by generator #2 and CSD #2 and disconnected CSD.
