Narrative:
Returning from isp to hef. Was at 2500 ft VFR. Descended to 2000 ft while in washington dc class B, en route to hef. Washington couldn't handoff to dulles and, upon reaching 2000 ft, terminated radar service and stated that I should remain clear of the dulles class B. I believe that I may have inadvertently skirted the iad class B in its 1500 ft lower limit area, while at 2000 ft and descending to pattern altitude for hef. Washington terminated service while I was very close to the iad space that I was on the edge of the 1500 ft floor within a min. I believe that I penetrated the area for only seconds and then was below and outside of the 1500 ft floor and into the 2500 ft floor. I should have paid more attention as to my exact location at all times, rather than relying on ATC to hand me off to iad.

Title: PLT OF A C182R, INADVERTENTLY PENETRATED CLASS B AIRSPACE DUE TO COMPLACENCY OF NOT MAINTAINING SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AFTER TERMINATING RADAR SVCS.
Narrative: RETURNING FROM ISP TO HEF. WAS AT 2500 FT VFR. DSNDED TO 2000 FT WHILE IN WASHINGTON DC CLASS B, ENRTE TO HEF. WASHINGTON COULDN'T HDOF TO DULLES AND, UPON REACHING 2000 FT, TERMINATED RADAR SVC AND STATED THAT I SHOULD REMAIN CLR OF THE DULLES CLASS B. I BELIEVE THAT I MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY SKIRTED THE IAD CLASS B IN ITS 1500 FT LOWER LIMIT AREA, WHILE AT 2000 FT AND DSNDING TO PATTERN ALT FOR HEF. WASHINGTON TERMINATED SVC WHILE I WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE IAD SPACE THAT I WAS ON THE EDGE OF THE 1500 FT FLOOR WITHIN A MIN. I BELIEVE THAT I PENETRATED THE AREA FOR ONLY SECONDS AND THEN WAS BELOW AND OUTSIDE OF THE 1500 FT FLOOR AND INTO THE 2500 FT FLOOR. I SHOULD HAVE PAID MORE ATTN AS TO MY EXACT LOCATION AT ALL TIMES, RATHER THAN RELYING ON ATC TO HAND ME OFF TO IAD.
