Narrative:
Lost power on #2 engine on short final. Completed immediate action items, notified tower, uneventful single engine landing. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the aircraft was an ATR42 powered with P&west 121A engines. Reporter also said that maintenance found the #2 engine ignition system at fault and replaced an exciter box and cleaned the igniter plugs. Reporter also stated the aircraft was run after maintenance and operated ok.

Title: AN ATR42 AT 500 FT AGL ON FINAL APCH EXPERIENCED A PWR LOSS IN #2 ENG CAUSED BY IGNITION SYS FAILURE.
Narrative: LOST PWR ON #2 ENG ON SHORT FINAL. COMPLETED IMMEDIATE ACTION ITEMS, NOTIFIED TWR, UNEVENTFUL SINGLE ENG LNDG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS AN ATR42 POWERED WITH P&W 121A ENGS. RPTR ALSO SAID THAT MAINT FOUND THE #2 ENG IGNITION SYS AT FAULT AND REPLACED AN EXCITER BOX AND CLEANED THE IGNITER PLUGS. RPTR ALSO STATED THE ACFT WAS RUN AFTER MAINT AND OPERATED OK.
