Narrative:
Cessna requested taxi for departure. Instructed to taxi to runway 17. The pilot taxied to runway 17 at taxiway G without authority/authorized. When asked, he stated he thought he was at the end of the runway. He requested departure to the north. He was given departure clearance and instructed to depart on a left downwind. The aircraft departed on a right downwind. This resulted in several pointouts to other incoming aircraft which would have been unnecessary otherwise.
