Narrative:
Approach to land. Pulled deflation vent to deflate balloon at 50 ft AGL. Wind speed carried balloon past intended landing point by 150 ft. After landing balloon continued downwind, basket stopped against a residence garage with the envelope deflating over the house. Minor damage to the balloon, $180, approximately $500 to house. To prevent: marker on deflation line to indicate when vent is fully open. In this incident the vent was probably not opened fully.

Narrative: APCH TO LAND. PULLED DEFLATION VENT TO DEFLATE BALLOON AT 50 FT AGL. WIND SPD CARRIED BALLOON PAST INTENDED LNDG POINT BY 150 FT. AFTER LNDG BALLOON CONTINUED DOWNWIND, BASKET STOPPED AGAINST A RESIDENCE GARAGE WITH THE ENVELOPE DEFLATING OVER THE HOUSE. MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BALLOON, $180, APPROX $500 TO HOUSE. TO PREVENT: MARKER ON DEFLATION LINE TO INDICATE WHEN VENT IS FULLY OPEN. IN THIS INCIDENT THE VENT WAS PROBABLY NOT OPENED FULLY.
