Narrative:
Austin clearance issued our flight a pre departure clearance. The last line of the clearance gave instructions to turn to heading 080 degrees and contact departure. I missed the instruction to turn to 080 degrees. On departure, tower instructed us at approximately 1300 ft MSL to contact departure control and turn to 080 degrees. Our mistake was discovered when tower told us to turn to 080 degrees. Contributing factors were the early hour and the usual early morning fatigue resulting in a lack of situational awareness.

Title: AN ACR MD88 FLC NEGLECTS TO TURN AFTER TKOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR CLRNC. AN ALERT ATCT LCL CTLR CORRECTS THEIR ERROR.
Narrative: AUSTIN CLRNC ISSUED OUR FLT A PDC. THE LAST LINE OF THE CLRNC GAVE INSTRUCTIONS TO TURN TO HDG 080 DEGS AND CONTACT DEP. I MISSED THE INSTRUCTION TO TURN TO 080 DEGS. ON DEP, TWR INSTRUCTED US AT APPROX 1300 FT MSL TO CONTACT DEP CTL AND TURN TO 080 DEGS. OUR MISTAKE WAS DISCOVERED WHEN TWR TOLD US TO TURN TO 080 DEGS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE THE EARLY HR AND THE USUAL EARLY MORNING FATIGUE RESULTING IN A LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.
