Narrative:
While parking the aircraft for customs, the left wing struck a pole for a cyclone fence. I was looking to the right at the time, for ground traffic. I should have stopped and closely examined the distance/clearance prior to taxiing in close proximity to an obstacle.

Title: A COMMERCIAL FIXED WING SMA WHILE TAXIING STRUCK A FENCE POLE INCURRING DAMAGE TO THE L WING LEADING EDGE.
Narrative: WHILE PARKING THE ACFT FOR CUSTOMS, THE L WING STRUCK A POLE FOR A CYCLONE FENCE. I WAS LOOKING TO THE R AT THE TIME, FOR GND TFC. I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED AND CLOSELY EXAMINED THE DISTANCE/CLRNC PRIOR TO TAXIING IN CLOSE PROX TO AN OBSTACLE.
