Narrative:
We had been requesting FL370, as per our oceanic clearance, since well before rafin. Finally at approximately 17 NM before 4550N, after one more request for FL370, the controller told us we were cleared to FL370. We started a climb to FL370 and subsequently got a TA traffic, traffic, at about FL363. It was then that we noticed traffic, at about our 10-11 O'clock position headed toward us. The controller then told us to expedite climb. We responded that we were climbing 1000 FPM and he wanted us to increase our climb, without telling us about oncoming traffic. We increased climb to 1300 FPM and leveled off at FL370. Mentioned that they had a visual on us, as well as we had him visually. He was at FL360. We crossed at inside the 2 mi ring at what seemed to be less than 700 ft vertical separation, however, we did have him visually. No safety was jeopardized. However it does seem that ATC could have handled this sooner/better.

Title: FLC OF B767 ON OCEANIC FLT HAS TCASII TA AFTER REQUESTING AND FINALLY RECEIVING A CLB CLRNC. ATC THEN REQUEST FASTER RATE OF CLB.
Narrative: WE HAD BEEN REQUESTING FL370, AS PER OUR OCEANIC CLRNC, SINCE WELL BEFORE RAFIN. FINALLY AT APPROX 17 NM BEFORE 4550N, AFTER ONE MORE REQUEST FOR FL370, THE CTLR TOLD US WE WERE CLRED TO FL370. WE STARTED A CLB TO FL370 AND SUBSEQUENTLY GOT A TA TFC, TFC, AT ABOUT FL363. IT WAS THEN THAT WE NOTICED TFC, AT ABOUT OUR 10-11 O'CLOCK POS HEADED TOWARD US. THE CTLR THEN TOLD US TO EXPEDITE CLB. WE RESPONDED THAT WE WERE CLBING 1000 FPM AND HE WANTED US TO INCREASE OUR CLB, WITHOUT TELLING US ABOUT ONCOMING TFC. WE INCREASED CLB TO 1300 FPM AND LEVELED OFF AT FL370. MENTIONED THAT THEY HAD A VISUAL ON US, AS WELL AS WE HAD HIM VISUALLY. HE WAS AT FL360. WE CROSSED AT INSIDE THE 2 MI RING AT WHAT SEEMED TO BE LESS THAN 700 FT VERT SEPARATION, HOWEVER, WE DID HAVE HIM VISUALLY. NO SAFETY WAS JEOPARDIZED. HOWEVER IT DOES SEEM THAT ATC COULD HAVE HANDLED THIS SOONER/BETTER.
