Narrative:
On VFR flight plan from a hospital to a university, I passed within a mile or two of the key hole extension on the north side of ZZZ. I was not, by my dead reckoning, in their class D airspace. I believe I was at least 1 mi north. But I thought I was close enough that I had better be safe than sorry, and send this in. I was worried that this being a military base, they might get a little excited about aircraft they are not talking to getting close to the class D airspace. There were no other incidents.
