Narrative:
TCASII called for 1500 FPM descent. ATC advised VFR traffic 500 ft above. We started a descent, saw traffic -- appeared to be at or slightly above our altitude. Had traffic below us at 9000 ft. We went to 9500 ft and climbed back to 10000 ft after aircraft passed us. We advised ATC.

Narrative: TCASII CALLED FOR 1500 FPM DSCNT. ATC ADVISED VFR TFC 500 FT ABOVE. WE STARTED A DSCNT, SAW TFC -- APPEARED TO BE AT OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE OUR ALT. HAD TFC BELOW US AT 9000 FT. WE WENT TO 9500 FT AND CLBED BACK TO 10000 FT AFTER ACFT PASSED US. WE ADVISED ATC.
