Narrative:

MD88 was a rdu departure wswbound and issued a climb to 16000 ft. C650 was a clt lander in a descent for 17000 ft, also wswbound, leaving FL238. C650 reported having the MD88 in sight and was issued a visual descent clearance to 16000 ft. At this time C650 was leaving FL200. MD88 was then informed that the C650 had them in sight and was executing a visual descent. The MD88 was then issued a climb to FL230. Separation was lost when the MD88 climbed through FL180 prior to the C650 descending through 17000 ft.
