Narrative:
As part of first officer duty, I copied ATC clearance. We were cleared to las via pom 6-DAG-cres 3 to maintain 14000 ft. After takeoff we were switched to socal departure. Captain made initial contact and he said, 'climbing to 8000 ft restr' (according to published pom 6 departure). Controller responded, 'climb and maintain 14000 ft.' captain responded, 'clear to climb 14000 ft unrestr.' at that time I was flying through 6800 ft and confirm loud, 'we are cleared to 14000 ft unrestr and captain confirming to me.' clear to 14000 ft unrestr and added approach radial. I started right turn to join R114. We were over pom VOR just leaving 9000 ft when controller came back on frequency and said, 'stop to climb, you have restr.' I immediately stopped to climb and started descending at the same time captain responded, 'you cleared us to 14000 ft restr and is there any conflict.' controller responded, 'I don't think so, you can continue to climb 14000 ft.' captain asked for the phone number to call back after landing. My understanding is that last ATC clearance canceled all previous restrs. Supplemental information from acn 401413: I asked the controller if there was any conflict. His response was, 'he didn't think so.' I requested socal's phone number and said I would call when reaching our destination (las). Upon arrival las, I spoke to a supervisor at socal departure who was unaware of any conflict or this incident.

Title: APPARENT MISCOM OF ASSIGNED ALT OF 14000 FT WITH OR WITHOUT 8000 FT XING RESTR BTWN MLG FLC AND DEP CTLR.
Narrative: AS PART OF FO DUTY, I COPIED ATC CLRNC. WE WERE CLRED TO LAS VIA POM 6-DAG-CRES 3 TO MAINTAIN 14000 FT. AFTER TKOF WE WERE SWITCHED TO SOCAL DEP. CAPT MADE INITIAL CONTACT AND HE SAID, 'CLBING TO 8000 FT RESTR' (ACCORDING TO PUBLISHED POM 6 DEP). CTLR RESPONDED, 'CLB AND MAINTAIN 14000 FT.' CAPT RESPONDED, 'CLR TO CLB 14000 FT UNRESTR.' AT THAT TIME I WAS FLYING THROUGH 6800 FT AND CONFIRM LOUD, 'WE ARE CLRED TO 14000 FT UNRESTR AND CAPT CONFIRMING TO ME.' CLR TO 14000 FT UNRESTR AND ADDED APCH RADIAL. I STARTED R TURN TO JOIN R114. WE WERE OVER POM VOR JUST LEAVING 9000 FT WHEN CTLR CAME BACK ON FREQ AND SAID, 'STOP TO CLB, YOU HAVE RESTR.' I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED TO CLB AND STARTED DSNDING AT THE SAME TIME CAPT RESPONDED, 'YOU CLRED US TO 14000 FT RESTR AND IS THERE ANY CONFLICT.' CTLR RESPONDED, 'I DON'T THINK SO, YOU CAN CONTINUE TO CLB 14000 FT.' CAPT ASKED FOR THE PHONE NUMBER TO CALL BACK AFTER LNDG. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT LAST ATC CLRNC CANCELED ALL PREVIOUS RESTRS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 401413: I ASKED THE CTLR IF THERE WAS ANY CONFLICT. HIS RESPONSE WAS, 'HE DIDN'T THINK SO.' I REQUESTED SOCAL'S PHONE NUMBER AND SAID I WOULD CALL WHEN REACHING OUR DEST (LAS). UPON ARR LAS, I SPOKE TO A SUPVR AT SOCAL DEP WHO WAS UNAWARE OF ANY CONFLICT OR THIS INCIDENT.
