Narrative:
We were cleared by clearance delivery to fly the mia 1, skips transition, radar vectors to acmee. However, about 5 mins from skips we asked mia departure for direct acmee. We were told the next frequency was to give us that clearance. When we were over skips, we had still not been handed off to the next controller. We then explained to mia departure that we were given radar vectors to acmee by mia clearance delivery. Her response was to do that then, if that's what you were given. This seems like a communication problem to me. I actually flew past skips before I turned direct to acmee. Perhaps they can clear us skips direct acmee and omit the word 'radar vectors' -- it causes confusion.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ACR LGT FREIGHTER CAPT RPTS ON THE CONFUSING AND CONFLICTING CLRNCS ISSUED BY MIA CLRNC DELIVERY AND THE EXECUTION BY MIA DEP CTLRS. FLT WAS ISSUED 'RADAR VECTORS' TO ACMEE INTXN. THE DEP CTLR EXPECTED THE FLT TO PROCEED DIRECT ACMEE.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED BY CLRNC DELIVERY TO FLY THE MIA 1, SKIPS TRANSITION, RADAR VECTORS TO ACMEE. HOWEVER, ABOUT 5 MINS FROM SKIPS WE ASKED MIA DEP FOR DIRECT ACMEE. WE WERE TOLD THE NEXT FREQ WAS TO GIVE US THAT CLRNC. WHEN WE WERE OVER SKIPS, WE HAD STILL NOT BEEN HANDED OFF TO THE NEXT CTLR. WE THEN EXPLAINED TO MIA DEP THAT WE WERE GIVEN RADAR VECTORS TO ACMEE BY MIA CLRNC DELIVERY. HER RESPONSE WAS TO DO THAT THEN, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WERE GIVEN. THIS SEEMS LIKE A COM PROB TO ME. I ACTUALLY FLEW PAST SKIPS BEFORE I TURNED DIRECT TO ACMEE. PERHAPS THEY CAN CLR US SKIPS DIRECT ACMEE AND OMIT THE WORD 'RADAR VECTORS' -- IT CAUSES CONFUSION.
