Narrative:
Low altitude and conflict alert alarms have been adjusted to such a high volume that it is difficult to impossible to communicate with pilots during an alert situation. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he has filed two ucrs on the problem and there is agreement that the alarms are too loud. Reporter indicated that the low altitude conflict alert is a program which the individual local facs cannot adjust but that the problem is being worked on at the national level in atlantic city.

Title: RPTR CLAIMS THE LOW ALT CONFLICT ALERT ALARMS ARE TOO LOUD AFFECTING COM WITH PLTS DURING AN ALARM.
Narrative: LOW ALT AND CONFLICT ALERT ALARMS HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED TO SUCH A HIGH VOLUME THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO IMPOSSIBLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH PLTS DURING AN ALERT SIT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE HAS FILED TWO UCRS ON THE PROB AND THERE IS AGREEMENT THAT THE ALARMS ARE TOO LOUD. RPTR INDICATED THAT THE LOW ALT CONFLICT ALERT IS A PROGRAM WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL LCL FACS CANNOT ADJUST BUT THAT THE PROB IS BEING WORKED ON AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL IN ATLANTIC CITY.
