Narrative:
During the missed approach from ckb due to the marginal WX, the flaps failed at 45 degrees indicated by EICAS. This caused an excess fuel burn of roughly 6000 pounds an hour and we had only 4800 pounds of fuel remaining. We elected to divert to crw. Had this event occurred on the previous trip when we had been dispatched with only 5600 pounds the outcome would have been considerably different.

Title: CL65 CREW HAD FLAPS FAIL EXTENDED ON MISSED APCH. CREW DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED TO A CLOSER ARPT.
Narrative: DURING THE MISSED APCH FROM CKB DUE TO THE MARGINAL WX, THE FLAPS FAILED AT 45 DEGS INDICATED BY EICAS. THIS CAUSED AN EXCESS FUEL BURN OF ROUGHLY 6000 LBS AN HR AND WE HAD ONLY 4800 LBS OF FUEL REMAINING. WE ELECTED TO DIVERT TO CRW. HAD THIS EVENT OCCURRED ON THE PREVIOUS TRIP WHEN WE HAD BEEN DISPATCHED WITH ONLY 5600 LBS THE OUTCOME WOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERABLY DIFFERENT.
