Narrative:
While flying down J75, approximately 60 NM north of gve, center gave us a 45 degree left vector for converging traffic also at FL310 en route to csn. Center said we were off course by 4.5 NM, west of centerline. We showed only 1 needle width to the right of center. After 20 degrees in our turn, the controller cleared both aircraft back to the vors being used for navigation. We watched the other plane on TCASII pass 10 mi to our right.

Title: A CTLR GIVES AN MD80 FLC A L TURN TO GET THEM BACK ONTO THE AIRWAY SO AS TO PROVIDE PROPER SEPARATION STANDARDS FOR OPPOSITE DIRECTION, SAME ALT TFC.
Narrative: WHILE FLYING DOWN J75, APPROX 60 NM N OF GVE, CTR GAVE US A 45 DEG L VECTOR FOR CONVERGING TFC ALSO AT FL310 ENRTE TO CSN. CTR SAID WE WERE OFF COURSE BY 4.5 NM, W OF CTRLINE. WE SHOWED ONLY 1 NEEDLE WIDTH TO THE R OF CTR. AFTER 20 DEGS IN OUR TURN, THE CTLR CLRED BOTH ACFT BACK TO THE VORS BEING USED FOR NAV. WE WATCHED THE OTHER PLANE ON TCASII PASS 10 MI TO OUR R.
