Narrative:
Me and my trainee took a pointout about 10 mi northeast of iiu on a CL60/G(X) filed cvg-iiu-pxv-MOSEY5-stl, and filed for the high altitudes. We were working the low altitudes. At that time, there wasn't any traffic for the CL60/G(X) but around 10 mi west of iiu conflict alert was activated with a CL60/G(Y) northbound at FL220. Turns were issued by both high and low altitude controllers, but loss of separation was the result.

Title: ARTCC RADAR DEVELOPMENTAL CTLR TAKES POINTOUT ON CLBING, CROSS TFC, BUT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH HIS OWN TFC. CONFLICT ALERT ACTIVATES. TWO CTLR SECTORS ATTEMPT TO REGAIN SEPARATION, BUT ARE UNABLE.

AT THAT TIME, THERE WASN'T ANY TFC FOR THE CL60/G(X) BUT AROUND 10 MI W OF IIU CONFLICT ALERT WAS ACTIVATED WITH A CL60/G(Y) NBOUND AT FL220. TURNS WERE ISSUED BY BOTH HIGH AND LOW ALT CTLRS, BUT LOSS OF SEPARATION WAS THE RESULT.
