Narrative:

'IOE' training for new captain. New captain PF, autoplt off, cleared 300 degree heading to intercept localizer. PNF observed localizer capture on navigation display and shifted attention to the center console to change navigation display from localizer/ILS to map. PF flew through the localizer on 300 degree heading. Directed to turn immediately left to again intercept localizer by controller, corrected to localizer and landed without conflict.

PNF OBSERVED LOC CAPTURE ON NAV DISPLAY AND SHIFTED ATTN TO THE CTR CONSOLE TO CHANGE NAV DISPLAY FROM LOC/ILS TO MAP. PF FLEW THROUGH THE LOC ON 300 DEG HDG. DIRECTED TO TURN IMMEDIATELY L TO AGAIN INTERCEPT LOC BY CTLR, CORRECTED TO LOC AND LANDED WITHOUT CONFLICT.
