Narrative:
I was flying from longville (D33) to anoka county (ane) mn. I descended through the class B veil and contacted anoka tower about 10 NM northwest for landing. They told me they didn't see my transponder return. I recycled the transponder but they still weren't able to see it. I must have had an inoperative transponder in the msp class B veil area. In the future, I will call approach control prior to entering the veil to be assured my transponder is being seen.
