Narrative:

Captain advised me we would be returning to jfk as a result of maintenance problem but it was not an emergency. Approximately 30 mins later, captain advised me to prepare cabin and passenger for an emergency landing and an unlikely evacuate/evacuation. We completed entire emergency checklist with time to spare. Landing did not result in evacuate/evacuation.

Narrative: CAPT ADVISED ME WE WOULD BE RETURNING TO JFK AS A RESULT OF MAINT PROB BUT IT WAS NOT AN EMER. APPROX 30 MINS LATER, CAPT ADVISED ME TO PREPARE CABIN AND PAX FOR AN EMER LNDG AND AN UNLIKELY EVAC. WE COMPLETED ENTIRE EMER CHKLIST WITH TIME TO SPARE. LNDG DID NOT RESULT IN EVAC.
