Narrative:
While flying to lga we got lga digital ATIS and it had a remark airmet for turbulence. We looked into our paperwork and no airmet was listed. I asked, via ACARS, dispatch send us this airmet. I was concerned about safety and should I have passenger and flight attendants seated. Dispatch did a great job and found this airmet after much looking. It called occasional moderate turbulence from ny, PA, oh, from cvg to buf to fwa to dtw. Well, our route from yyz to lga runs along this area. In fact, our return route back from lga to yyz flies us over buffalo, and from 10000 ft to FL180 we had a bad ride. Airmets should be sent to the crews. We do not have all the proper information as per the FARS.
